Before you turn away from this easy raw food recipe, please let me explain.
I have dubbed cashews the devil and for the most part, I mean it. Cashews made me gain back a lot of the weight that I lost. I actually had to go on a lemon water fast for one day and go back low-fat raw vegan to lose some of the weight back.
I was desperately searching for a cashew substitute and I needed a nut or seed that didn’t have a high fat content or a bad aftertaste. I had some pumpkin seeds in a zip-lock bag for more then I would like to admit. So I gave it a try expecting to have to gulp down a nasty tasting smoothie. However what I got was a tasty, delicious smoothie, and truth be told, it tasted way better than if I had used cashews. Bye,bye cashews, hello pumpkin seeds.
P.S.The flavor of the pumpkin seeds were almost nonexistent and paired really well with the chocolate.Use some in your next smoothie and let me know how it turned out, especially if you make a different flavor from chocolate.
